In our world today, we experience that our current reality in almost every place and country is shaped by three universal conditions or divides:

​

 

• The Ecological divide, experienced in the rapidly increasing climate change and loss of biodiversity.

• The Social divide, which we experience in the increasing polarisation in society, the growing social inequality and the increase in war and violence.

• The Spiritual divide, which is the divide of human beings from themselves, expressed in a collective feeling of depression, helplessness and hopelessness.

 

On our 10-day journey to Egypt, we will experience a threefold process that can counteract the three divides:

• a journey to ourselves

• a community-building process

• and getting to know an ecological, social and entrepreneurial lighthouse project with the concept "Economy of Love".

SEKEM, the "miracle in the desert" began in 1977, when they began to green the desert through bio-dynamic agriculture and to build a living community. In the meantime, it has developed into a large community with sustainable agriculture, fair businesses and trade, and special educational projects from kindergarten to university. The founder of SEKEM, Ibrahim Abouleish, was awarded the Alternative Nobel Prize in 2003. SEKEM is a globally recognised and much visited lighthouse project that works according to the holistic concept of "Economy of Love". This approach includes the areas of economy, ecology, society and culture. All four areas must be taken into account in a harmonious way in order to have a healing effect in our crisis-ridden world.

 

Get to know the concept of "Economy of Love" in all its facets and be inspired for your future projects. We will visit the SEKEM farm and the most important companies of the SEKEM Holding. Get to know the educational concept of the SEKEM community from kindergarten to vocational schools and the Heliopolis University for Sustainable Development. Stay with us on the SEKEM farm and enjoy the unique Egyptian hospitality. Visit the desert farm WAHAT, where we will plant trees in the desert, experience a nature-solo in the White Desert to connect deeply with nature and mother earth and spend a night with us in the white desert.

Price: 2.550 €, incl. 10 nights, (at Sekem Farm in single rooms with private bathroom), full board and transfer from SEKEM Farm, reduced 1.970 €. (net)

The programme starts on the 9th of February in the morning and ends on the 17th of February in the evening.

After registration you will receive a confirmation of registration and invoice.
We kindly ask you to transfer half of the participation fee within one week after registration.

Cancellation:
In case of cancellation until 30 November 2023 you will pay 20% of the total price. In case of cancellation after 1 December, 50% of the total price will be due.
If the trip is cancelled for any other reason (too few participants or similar), you will receive a full refund of your deposit.
